Plants thriving well on green walls, used as inserts

Codiaeum Variegatum

  • Due to a lack of light and dry air from heating, winter is the most challenging period for crotons grown indoors. During this time, they are more prone to fungal diseases, attacked by pests, lose color, and shed leaves.
  • Individual specimens are often used in vertical gardens and can survive for a long period.

Tradescantia

  • The CAM-type species – at night, it absorbs CO2 and releases oxygen.
  • It has antifungal and antiseptic properties.
  • When used in groups, it quickly covers the entire garden, displacing other species. It is highly invasive.
  • Once overgrown, it becomes brittle and challenging to maintain.

Asplenium

  • It increases air humidity.
  • It often sheds individual leaves, which should be trimmed. Unfortunately, a dried leaf of such size can often spoil the entire effect of the garden.

Calathea

  • It has high air-purifying properties, contributing to an improved indoor climate.
  • At night, it closes its leaves only to open them again in the morning.
  • It enjoys being sprayed with water.

Monstera ‘Monkey Mask’

  • It belongs to the most decorative potted plants with ornamental leaves. The plant is adorned with bright green, heart-shaped, slightly elongated, entire leaves, decorated with numerous holes.
  • It has low cultivation requirements and thrives well in indoor conditions.

Cordyline Fruticosa

  • It requires very little regular pruning as the plant naturally sheds its older leaves.
  • When mature, it produces sweetly scented bowl-shaped flowers, often followed by berries.
  • After flowering, dead flower stems should be cut off using a sharp knife or pruning shears.
  • It originates from rainy environments and prefers constant humidity.
  • Excessive watering can lead to root rot and other issues.

We invite you to view the gallery of vertical gardens. You will find plants used in our projects there. The method of preparing and planting plants in a vertical garden is demonstrated in instructional videos on our YouTube Ogrod Wertykalny channel.
