Vertical garden installed above the floor level – drainage
Vertical garden above floor level
The vertical garden, installed in this manner, has a structure mounted above the floor level. In this case, the drainage outlet must be installed at the lowest point of the green wall. At this height, there is a water collection gutter that is drained through the sewage outlet. Therefore, if the installation of the living wall is planned 200 centimeters above the floor, the drainage connection must also be positioned 200 centimeters above the floor.

Construction schematics

Drainage systems are typically constructed using pipes with a diameter of 32mm or 50mm. For green walls, it is recommended to use a drainage pipe with a diameter of 50mm. It is important to remember to incorporate a siphon in the drainage system.
Placement of the garden with connections
It is important for the drainage connection to be located as close to the center of the vertical garden as possible. If such a construction is not feasible, the drainage can be shifted to the left or right within the garden. However, it should not come closer than 10 centimeters from the edge of the garden, nor extend beyond its outline.
An essential consideration is to ensure that the drainage pipe’s opening is flushed with the wall.
