Connections for mobile vertical gardens

Elements for creating an installation of a mobile green wall

  1. 230V socket for powering the pump and lighting.
  2. Lighting for illuminating plants.

1. Electrical connection – 230 V socket

In order to power the electric pump used for irrigating the garden, a 230 V electrical socket is necessary. The pump is located in the tank beneath the green wall. It is advisable to install the electrical socket as close to the garden as possible. The mobile vertical garden also requires plant illumination. Therefore, it is a good idea to install a double 230 V socket. This will allow for the connection of both the pump and the lighting.

2. Illuminating plants

The green wall requires light. For illuminating plants, artificial light that closely resembles natural light is needed.

The minimum amount of light directed at one square meter of the plant wall is 800 lux. This lighting should have a spectrum to assist plants in the process of photosynthesis. Lamps with a color temperature of 4000K, a color rendering index (CRI) of at least 90, and a luminous flux of 4000 lumens are suitable for illuminating plants on the living wall. Garden lighting should be positioned at a distance of 120-170 centimeters from the plants. Useful information about lighting can also be found in the section on vertical garden lighting.
